  11. Yesterday I got my Apollo 3060 for my a3000 along with 3.1 ROMs.
  12. When I tried to install the Kickstart ROMs I didn't get the machine
  13. working, I can get the early startup control, but it refuses to boot from
  14. my HDs (hmm..come to think of it, I'm not even sure they showed up in the
  15. early startup control at all). There was some sockets with the ROMs
  16. supposed to (no documentation about this, just my guess..) go under the WD
  17. Proto-chip and one of the kickstart ROMs, anyone with an idea under WHICH
  18. of the kickstart ROMs it should be placed? Anyone recognize the problem
  19. with 3.1 (40.68) not even booting of your HDs?

  21. Well..in my anger and despair, I thought I'd at least plug in the
  22. Apollo-060 just to see if it worked. All that happens is that the power led
  23. on the a3000 flashes rapidly a few times, the screen is yellow, and then
  24. the power-led goes 'dim' and the screen goes black...
  25.  
  26. I've checked all the internal jumpers of my a3000 (all set to INT and 25MHz
  27. as the apollo-manual (a GERMAN manual...gheeze..) says), I've tried
  28. different settings for the apollo-card (fiddled with the RAM/SCSI-jumpers),
  29. nothing, simply nothing...
  30.  
  31. My 2c's: I have a faulty motherboard, or, I have a faulty Fast-slot, or, I
  32. have a motherboard to old, or, my Proto-chip is to old (Rev 03), or, the
  33. 060-card is faulty, as well as the 3.1 ROMs.

  35. Any input would be greatly appreciated since I've already started tearing
  36. my hair of, and I didn't have that much to begin with...
